You know you're a teenager when

Today's "Zits" gave me a laugh. I'm not sure about his locker, but I can confirm this is my son's notebooks and backpack.

I want to place a vote to keep The Knight Life. What a great little strip! I enjoy his style of humor.

I just previewed Speed Bump and Argyle Sweater, and I really like them both! Those could be great new choices.

I'm not crazy about the new one about the sheep. It's alright, but not really that funny, in my view.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't heard much about "Deflocked" - from readers here or elsewhere. I suppose folks have a lot more pressing things to think about right now...

Dena,

You need to have a place to post general comments as well as recommendations of other strips to run.

I do not wish this to be taken personally, but I do not like any of the potential new ones being run on a trial basis. There are a lot of really good strips out there. Try something with quality and humor rather than some of the lame ones you've been running.

I'm pulling the handle exclusively for DeFlocked! My sister in Seattle turned me on to this strip over the summer, and I've been a huge fan since. It gave me the same feeling that I had when I first discovered Calvin & Hobbes, and I've been turning all my friends and classmates onto it.

PLEASE keep this one in the Gazette.

I agree with the above. Deflocked is f'ing hilarious. I read that it was Larry David's favorite strip, so that sold me. I'm pleasantly surprised our paper is running something this good.

Now, if we can just get the editorial page up a level...

I always grow weary of comic tests b/c it always feels like someone dumping a bunch of comics on us that no one else wanted. Maybe it's just the uneven quality. Having said that, I was completely surprised by Deflocked. It's good. I mean REALLY good. How this strip isn't in every newspaper boggles me. Or maybe it is. Is it new? I sincerely hope this one is coming back.

Most of the comics I've tested have been new - either not available to newspapers yet or just released. Deflocked is maybe 6 months old. I don't think it has been too popular so far, but a lot of editors fear reader reaction to change, so they just never do.

More folks are calling or writing to say they like it in the last week than the previous couple.

I hope that's a sign readers are giving it time before writing in, instead of reading one strip and deciding whether they love/hate/are indifferent to it.
